Photos: Student Cardboard Boat Challenge
The Institute of Bermuda Architects [IBA] and the Bermuda Association of Professional Engineers [BAPE] held their Cardboard Boat Building Challenge yesterday afternoon [Nov 15]. School students in years 9 to 12 were invited to take part in the event which was held at the National Aquatics Centre in Devonshire.
The challenge involved teams of up to five students building a boat out of cardboard and duct tape over a two-hour period. The timed boat race saw two team members get in their boat, make their way across the 50-metre length of the pool and remove their boat from the water as fast as possible.

What FUN!! Congrats to each of the teams represented! Keep striving and believing, young people!
It was a delight to see the enthusiasm teamwork , productivity and adventure in our young people . There were very, very few adults, understandably since many would be at work. I just happen to see it online or in the paper the same day. Well done to the sponsors, well done , to encourage skill and foresight.
